well, a happy 4th to those who celebrate it. i, of course do not. it would seem a little odd if i did, wouldn't it? but, we do have our own "fireworks day". november 5th - guy fawkes day/night. whereas the US celebrates its independence, we celebrate our greatest traitor. ok, perhaps not, but that's how some people look at it. guy fawkes has also been remembered as "the only man ever to enter Parliament with honest intentions.". he attempted to blow up parliament and/or king james and failed terribly. he was caught, tortured and executed for treason and every year on november 5th we fire off fireworks or burn bonfires (sometimes with effigies) to commemorate the occasion. whether we celebrate the attempt or the failure of guy fawkes, i'm not 100% sure. to me it was just an excuse to see fireworks. i mean, what else does a kid need?
anyway, tonight we will be heading to the charles river to snap some shots of the fireworks. should be fun!
the latest edition of All Things Girl is out! thanks to the entire editorial team who worked on putting together this brilliant edition (the best one yet). i can only see ATG getting better from here.
rannie is participating in the blogathon this year. sponsor him. he's raising funds for the AIDS Committee of Toronto. he'll be blogging about photography - tips, tricks etc, so you can gain great info from a fabulous photographer as well as support a really good cause. it's a win-win situation;)
